Sponsored Walk

Marion Brockett

Marion Brockett is a retired nurse who lives in a little hamlet between Newmill and St. Ives. She learned about ACE when she attended Newmill Open Gardens.

Last year she did a 25.5 mile sponsored walk along the River Test in Hampshire, organised by The Rotary Club of Romsey. 80% of the sponsorship she earns goes to ACE and 20% to the Rotary Club charity fund.

On Sunday 11th October 2015, she did it again. We hope you will sponsor Marion at her fundraising page, where you can also see how much she has raised so far.

This picture shows Marion and her sister in Romsey Park at the end of the walk.

Car Boot in Hertfordshire

Once again the Futerman family, together with their friends, the Fox family, went to a car boot sale to raise money for ACE.

This time they raised £600, and we are very grateful for their continued support.

Strawberries and Cream in Scarborough

Val Humphreys has held another successful cream tea in her garden in Scarborough.

This year she raised £660. £330 was donated to ACE funds and £330 towards her continuing sponsorship of Denis.

Denis is now in his 4th year of medical training. This picture shows him (in the white boots) watching an operation in Kampala.

Newmill Open Gardens

The Newmill Open Gardens event was a great success again.

It took place on the summer solstice, Sunday 21st June, and raised £3,059 for ACE funds..

There are pictures on the ACE Facebook page.

Ludgvan Open Village

The Open Village event at Ludgvan took place on Sunday 24th May.

The profits were split between Ludgvan village hall and two charities. 25% of the proceeds came to ACE and so far we have received just over £600.

The trustees are very grateful to the organisers in Ludgvan for supporting ACE.

South Thames University Fundraiser

Abi Brown discovered ACE via the internet. Since then she has visited Newmill to learn more about the charity and has started fundraising at the University.
So far, their events have raised £253 for ACE and we are very grateful to them for their ongoing efforts.

London Marathon 2015

ACE had a runner in this year's London Marathon on Sunday 26th April. She is Charlotte Stroud, daughter of ACE trustee, Judith Nicholls.

The money raised will be used to provide latrines at one of the schools ACE supports.

  Charlotte Stroud
Charlotte had never run a marathon before, and she did several months of training.
She ran the course in 4 hours and 24 minutes, which is a good time for a beginner.

Here she is, celebrating in Trafalger Square.

The magnificent sum raised by Charlotte was £3,333.32.

Coffee Morning

The coffee morning, in aid of ACE, at Chynoey, Newmill, on Friday 10th April, raised £263.

Rug Hookers Raise Funds

Local groups of ladies who do rug-hooking held an exhibition and sale in Marazion Community Centre on 21st March, as a fundraiser for ACE.

They raised £536, with £233 coming from a raffle.

We are very grateful to them for their support.

Barn Dance

We have a group of fundraisers, led by Jemma Williams, at the University at Falmouth.

The first event they have organised was a barn dance on 23rd January, at which they raised £116 plus a donation of £60.

The ACE 200 Club continues to run each month and we raise small amounts regularly through easyfundraising.
